About the Farm

Ed and Diana

Peacock Road Tree Farm has been selling trees since 1995.  Prior to Ed buying the farm in 1985, it had been a hay, corn and bean farm.

In 1987, Mid-Michigan had a severe drought and every tree on the farm died.  The next spring, Ed replanted the farm.  The trees available today were planted that spring.

Only a few generations ago, everyone was somehow connected to a farm.  People knew about food production and its importance.  Today, few people have family members with farm experience and often that experience is limited to large factory farms.  It is our goal to do what we can to teach young people and families the importance of farming.  We hope that a visit to our farm will light a spark in just one young person who may become a future farmer.

Here are a few factoids about the farm:

  • Our farm is about 180 acres, of which approximately 75 acres are tillable and in tree production.

  • We have over 60,000 Christmas trees on the farm.

  • This Spring  we will plant 6,000 trees on the farm.

  • In addition to Christmas trees, we grow pumpkins and apples.

  • We have 5 reindeer, 7 goats,  1 miniature horse and 2 miniature donkies, 13 pot belly pigs, 5 horses, 1 emu, 1 llama, 1 peacock, 2 guinea hens, 6 rabbits (with more on the way), 10 geese and more chickens than we can count.

We hope to see you soon on the farm.
