November 2009

We are busy getting the farm ready for Christmas.  Hard to believe given the beautiful weather we are having.  Too bad it wasn't like this in October.  The wreath shop has been set up and starting on the 9th we will begin making wreaths and roping.

For those of you who didn't make it out this fall, we have added a light show in the Snack Barn.  We hope you will enjoy it.  We have added a new line in the Christmas Shoppe - Icy Craft.  It is some of the most beautiful acrylic pieces I have ever seen.

Ed has added a new item on the menu, pulled pork.  It is really good and a nice treat on a cold day.

Don't forget about the picture contest and to visit our Facebook page.

The farm will open Novemeber 21.  Hope to see you then !

Hi Ed and Diana!
We just returned from Thanksgiving  in Ohio with our family. We want you to know what an impact the Christmas tree farm had on our Grand-daughter.   Julia is 7 1/2 years old. She is at the age where children start to question the reality of Santa.  Last night we went to the Christmas tree lighting in Perrysburg. It is a beautiful well planned community event. Of course they had Santa and his reindeer.  She took one look at Santa and announced she wanted nothing to do with him...he's a fake! Needless to say, we were holding our breath, afraid of the inevitable truth....our baby girl had outgrown Santa.  Her father took her aside and they had a little heart to heart about the fake Santa.  The conversation lasted several minutes, and then she looked her father in the eye and said " I know where the real Santa lives!" Oh????? "He lives at the Christmas tree farm with his reindeer. You have to ride the train to the cabin in the woods to see him. He's real!  How can you be so sure?  Ever so matter of fact, "I could feel the magic."  "Dad, we need to go there!"
Well....they will be making a trip in the very near future!
As a grown woman, I have to agree.....the Christmas Tree Farm is magical!  I have brought many friends to the farm, we have bought trees, walked the property, enjoyed the animals and out buildings and of course the Christmas store.  All of my friends in the area return every year to see what's new!   I still tell people every chance I get that they need to make the time to visit the tree farm.  It's a place for all ages!
What a wonderful vision you had!  What joy and magic you have brought to so many children.  I just want to thank both of you for all the hard work and love you have poured into the farm.  I am looking forward to our visit to the farm for the Lions club!!
